Our Story
A Center for Function and Creativity (CFC) opened the doors to our first community integration site on November 1, 2010, bringing to fruition the vision of Robert Hobbs, MPH OTR/L and Dan Cordova OTR/L to open new doors for developmentally disabled adults. As occupational therapists, they envisioned an innovative option for therapy-based day services that would
equip individuals with necessary functional skills and engage
their interest with creative activities and community experiences that serve a meaningful purpose. A partnership was formed between the two therapists and Anita Pohl, an experienced service provider in the field, and the agency was created.

Their mission for CFC is to empower individuals served to live self-determined and valued lives. Since its inception, CFC has helped enrich the lives of more than 100 individuals. Each person we serve is encouraged to explore their independence and to develop usable skills that will enable them to achieve their desired goals and, ultimately, to realize their full potential as valued members of their communities.
